A Maryland congressman has returned to the United States of El Salvador after failing in his attempt to meet with an illegal deported migrant, and suspected that MS-13 band member, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Representative Glenn Ivey said he was “stopped” in his efforts to check the well -being of Abrego Garcia, whose deportation in March has become a deeply polarizing topic for Republicans and Democrats. Trump’s administration accuses Abrego Garcia of being also a human trafficker and a blender woman, while Democrats say he is a “Maryland man” who did not receive his process due to the court before being deported.

“I was very, not only disappointed, but angry, actually,” IVEY told journalists after returning from the trip on Tuesday morning.

DEMIGRATION TALKS POINTS FIZZLE As the dark image of Abrego Garcia arises

Ivey, who said he did not use taxpayers’ money to fund his journey, said he had had embassies in the United States and the Savior to find -with ABREGO GARCIA in prison, but found bureaucratic obstacles when he arrived. Ivey said he was told that he had to get a permission to a 90 -minute location, which blocked his plans.

“And I will not tell you what I have said, but I mean, it is ridiculous that an international delegation obtained this type of treatment, especially when we make this type of application,” said Ivey.

He did not say if he tried to get a permit, but added that the locals also told them that no one, not even families, obtained permits to visit their loved ones in arrest.

“It was a good interpretation and not a way that a foreign government should treat the United States Congress,” he said.

Ivey said he wanted to see Abrego Garcia to confirm the detainee’s status, the location and assure that he receives the process due to the courts of the United States. Several other Democrats, including Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen, have rushed to meet with Abrego Garcia and have decreed what they said was the lack of due process extending to him.

When asked about the state of Abrego Garcia, Ivey said to journalists: “Nothing has been confirmed. We think it is and we think it is in Santa Ana. But they did not confirm it yesterday.

In a video posted on X on Monday, Ivey wrote that he traveled to the Central American country to visit his “constituent” and asked the government there to “cut off the shit”.

ABREGO GARCIA was sent to the Salvador’s highly safety prison in March, managed to manage the violent band members, known as Cecot, who caused Van Hollen to lead the increase in the Democrats traveling there. Trump’s administration has repeatedly cited court and police documents showing that the Savioran man was illegally in the United States, but also connected with the MS-13 Colla and that his wife had sounded the alarm to police on his violence.

Judicial records show that Abrego Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, presented a protection order against her husband in August 2020. The order said that her shared son and stepsons needed protection against Abrego Garcia, accusing him of verbal and physical abuse against her and mental abuse against her children.

Some Democrats and left -wing media have characterized Abrego Garcia as a “family man” who was mistakenly deported in March and the following weeks.

In the meantime, Ivey also resorted to what he said were more than 250 Venezuelans imprisoned in El Salvador after the United States deportation, saying that around 50 of them have no criminal record and were sent to a country where they have no outstanding crimes.

“This is not American. It’s not what we should do,” IVEY said.
